Interest rates

The criteria in the interest tables below are applicable to both Notice and Fixed Interest Deposit Accounts. Rates may vary. There is a minimum deposit of £500 or £5,000 for Cash ISA's (bracketed figures refer to previous rates). The following tables give details of our current interest rates for balances up to £500,000.

One penalty free withdrawal without notice is allowed per 12 months period of up to 15% of the balance of the account. However, a minimum balance of £500 must still be maintained. Withdrawals in excess of 15% require three months’ notice.

Other information

Gross Rate

Interest is payable gross (i.e. without deduction of tax at the lower rate to eligible and to non tax-paying depositors (subject to certification).

AER (Annual Equivalent Rate)

AER illustrates what the interest would be if interest was paid and compounded once each year.

Net Rate

The rate payable after deduction of lower rate tax (which may be reclaimed by non tax-payers).

Last Rate Change

Rates were last changed 24th November 2011.

Tax Status

Basic Rate tax will normally be deducted at source from Interest credited to the accounts of private individuals who are residents of the United Kingdom. If the account holder(s) is a UK resident and qualifies to receive interest Gross, then a form R85 is required. If the account holder(s) is a non-UK resident, then a form R105 is required.

All accounts are accessible by Post or in Branch. Enquiries can be dealt with on the phone, but all withdrawal instructions must be received in writing.
