Job description
This role is open to internal applicants only.
This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.
Role Purpose:
To assist mortgage underwriters with the packaging and processing of new applications for a variety of first and second charge lending products.
Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with mandated underwriters to gather outstanding documents and referencing requirements for both residential and buy to let mortgage applications
- Liaise with a pre-approved panel of Introducers to provide quick, accurate and reliable updates
- Acknowledge new applications, incoming post and pre-submission referrals within set service standards
- Ensure customer account records are kept up to date with underwriter decisions and correct packaging documents
- Complete telephone security checks with Customers
- Following approval, liaise with solicitors regarding the release of funds and registration of charges with Land Registry
- Adhere to internal underwriting policy and regulatory requirements – FCA, PRA, Money Laundering, Prevention of Financial Crime, Data Protection etc
- Undertake project and ad-hoc pieces of work at management request
Skills and Experience Sought:
Essential Experience
- Previous new business, customer service or administration exposure
- Working within a regulated environment
- Managing and prioritising own workload
- Liaising with Introducers and/or external customers
Desirable Experience
- Has worked in a mortgage or loans environment
- CeMAP qualified

Job description

Role Purpose:
Responsible for leading and overseeing the Property Credit sanctioning
team within the Credit department, ensuring that the resources of the
team are sufficient and appropriately applied to identifying, mitigating,
monitoring and reporting those credit risks apparent in the business.
Role Responsibilities:
- Leading a high performing credit sanctioning team to ensure
colleagues deliver their potential - Supporting business strategy implementation, with particular
emphasis on credit risk mitigation - Ensuring effective processes are in place to identify measure,
manage, monitor and report on credit risks - The sanctioning of credits, final decisions on acceptable credits
and the provision of subject matter expertise on credit risk
activities across the property lending businesses at UTB - In conjunction with the Credit Director, managing and driving
credit approval processes across each business line - Contributing to the effective reporting of credit risk exposures
across the businesses - Providing objective and independent Credit Risk expert advice
- Managing, coaching and training the Property Credit sanctioning
team as required
Skills and Experience sought:
- Familiarity with credit control issues, in order to control the business
- High level of commercial awareness in Credit
- Ability to establish a high degree of credibility, respect and trust at all levels
- Detail and quality oriented
- Strong management and leadership skills and ability to bring people together
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity and fairness
