Sarah was formally a Commissioner on the Civil Service Commission, an independent regulator that oversees appointments to the Civil Service. Nick Clegg has been Chair of the board of directors of United Trust Bank, this company’s banking subsidiary, 2001 when the Bank was acquired by Insinger de Beaufort. He led a management buyout of United Trust Bank in 2003 and stepped down in 2016. He has guided UTB through years of stellar growth as well as through the extreme volatility and risk of the 2008 crash. In December 2018 Nick retired from the Chair of UTB Partners after 15 years in the role and after a massive contribution to steering the development of United Trust Bank. Nick has enjoyed a long and successful career in banking spanning nearly six decades. He joined the board of directors of Hill Samuel & Co Ltd at the age of 33 and went on to become Co-Chair of Daiwa Europe Limited and Chair of Daiwa Europe Bank plc. He has also served as a Director of the International Primary Markets Association and as a senior adviser to the Bank of England on banking supervision. Nick was a founder member, and latterly Chair, of the Daiwa Anglo Japanese Foundation and in the 2009 New Year Honours he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to UK-Japanese relations.
Alice Altemaire has been Chief Executive Officer for RCI Bank UK since 2019, the banking arm of Groupe Renault providing savings and motor finance lending to UK customers. Previously, she held responsibilities at RCI Bank and Services group in Paris, as Group Controller, Vice President of Accounting and Performance Control, VP of Mobility Services and Innovation and, since 2016, she has been a member of the Executive Committee. Alice has an MBA from ESSEC Business School and a governance certificate form IFA Science Po education.
