United Trust Bank crowned ‘SME Champion’ and Nathan Mollet named Industry Ambassador of the Year at the Leasing Life Awards 2022

United Trust Bank (UTB) was crowned ‘SME Champion’ at the Leasing Life Awards 2022. In addition, UTB’s Head of Asset Finance, Nathan Mollett, received the ‘Industry Ambassador of the Year’ award.

The Leasing Life Awards 2022, held in Paris, France, saw 10 companies and 3 individuals walk away with leasing industry prizes during a gala event. The awards event concluded a day of discussion, keynote speakers and panel talks. Astrid Michael, UTB’s Head of Sales – Asset Finance, and Louise McIntosh, UTB’s Head of Operations – Asset Finance, were there to receive the award.

UTB’s record breaking growth in 2021 continued into 2022 and the division has also invested considerably in expanding the team and commencing an ambitious project to move to a cutting-edge technology platform to improve speed, efficiency and allow the business to grow.

Nathan Mollet was recognised for his contribution to the finance and leasing industry, particularly for his work with the Leasing Foundation (he became Chair of the foundation earlier this year) and in encouraging young people working in the sector. Nathan led the launch of the ‘Industry Insights’ programme, a cross-industry initiative focused on retaining and developing young talent in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Nathan Mollett – Head of Asset Finance – commented: “The whole team have worked extremely hard this year, originating and completing more deals than ever before and delivering yet another record performance for UTB’s Asset Finance business. They thoroughly deserve the recognition winning this ‘SME Champion’ award brings and I’d like to thank them for their commitment to delivering excellent broker service and tremendous results.

“I was delighted and humbled to be singled out for the Industry Ambassador award this year. I’m just one of many people who are keen to talk about our great industry and to encourage more young people to consider finance and leasing as an exciting career. My thanks to UTB and The Leasing Foundation for giving me the opportunity to do both.”
