United Trust Bank (UTB) Asset Finance has won a prestigious award at the NACFB Commercial Lender Awards.
The Bank’s Asset Finance Underwriting team won the ‘Underwriting Team of the Year’ category at the glamourous awards ceremony, bringing the Asset Finance division’s 2025 awards tally to a total of eight. Wins this year have included Asset Finance Provider of the Year, SME Champion and Top Specialist Car Lender. The haul includes individual awards for underwriter Rob Irving, internal business development manager Thomas Edwards and Head of Asset Finance Nathan Mollett.
The judging process for the NACFB awards starts with a panel of expert judges carefully reviewing the entries to determine the shortlist. Following this, NACFB Member brokers were invited to vote for their preferred Patron lender or Partner supplier in each category. The final winners were determined by combining the judges’ assessments with the results of the broker vote.
Commenting on the event, NACFB CEO Jim Higginbotham said: “This year, we were delighted to receive a record-breaking 428 award entries from more than 100 lenders and suppliers which made the judges’ job of whittling down a shortlist very difficult, especially as the overall standard of submissions was extremely high.”
Lisa Thomas, Head of Credit – Asset Finance at United Trust Bank, commented: “It’s fantastic that the whole Underwriting team has been recognised for their hard work over the last year. We have strived to deliver an excellent service to brokers whilst developing our digital processes and service enhancements and it means a lot to us that despite the challenges, we were still judged to be the best AF underwriting team in the industry!”
