United Trust Bank wins two lender awards at the Financial Reporter Awards 2021

United Trust Bank (UTB) has won two of the leading lender categories of the Financial Reporter Awards 2021 with its Bridging division picking up the ‘Best Short Term Lender’ award and the Mortgage division winning the ‘Best Second Charge Mortgage Lender’ award for an incredible 5th year running.

UTB’s Mortgage division currently holds five industry awards for it’s Second Charge Mortgage offering and the Bridging division recently won the Best Product Innovation Award at the 2021 SFI Awards for its new ‘Fast-Track’ bridging service.

The Financial Reporter Awards, now in their 12th year, have been developed to support a changing industry by promoting good practice and excellent service. The awards shortlists are based on Intermediary votes with the winners decided by a panel of industry judges.

Buster Tolfree – Director – Mortgages, commented: “Five in a row! I’m absolutely delighted for the team who have all worked so hard over a very challenging year to deliver an outstanding performance, both in terms of new business volumes and the high level of service we delivered throughout the pandemic lock downs. We invested in technology, people and new products and processes to ensure we could continue to lend and at times we were servicing around half of the second charge market. This is the fifth award we’ve won for our Mortgage proposition in the last year which I think is a solid seal of approval from brokers for everything we’ve done to support the Second Charge sector through an extraordinary 12 months.”

Gavin Diamond – Director – Bridging, commented: “The Bridging team thoroughly deserve to win this award. We’ve overcome extraordinary challenges with Covid-19 to keep lending whilst at the same time implementing new technology and processes to help brokers write more business more quickly. We strive to deliver an excellent service to our brokers and borrowers and the whole team has gone above and beyond to ensure we did that despite nearly all of us working from home for much of the last 12 months. I’m delighted that their dedication and commitment has been recognised with this award.”
