Manager | Strategic Partnerships

Strategic Partnerships are co-lending arrangements with third party bridging lenders, involving both residential and commercial loans. This role primarily assists and supports the Head of Strategic Partnership (HoSP) with analysing, completing and managing their loan portfolio – covering origination, execution and in-life management of loans.

This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.

Role Purpose:

Strategic Partnerships are co-lending arrangements with third party bridging lenders, involving both residential and commercial loans. This role primarily assists and supports the Head of Strategic Partnership (HoSP) with analysing, completing and managing their loan portfolio – covering origination, execution and in-life management of loans.

Responsibilities:

 Pre Drawdown

  • Liaise with our strategic partners by phone, email etc. to screen, assess and research new deals
  • Where appropriate, progress deals, ensuring accurate notes are recorded in Aurius / VC, plus other databases; undertake searches; input into Aurius; account/file maintenance process, including anti money laundering/KYC information; collation design and draft Credit Papers, Memos, Reports, File Notes etc.
  • Liaise with HoSP to understand final deal / loan conditions approved in Credit Committee
  • Source quotes and draft instructions for professionals, if required
  • Draft corresponding loan documentation
  • Set up files for completions, undertaking all appropriate searches, assisting with satisfying loan conditions and flagging any issues to the HoSP in a timely manner
  • Assist HoSP with case management to progress deals in a timely manner, liaising with strategic partners and (if appropriate) any third party professionals to collate information for drawdown
  • Ensure case progress is kept up to date on Aurius, the WIP/cashflow is up to date and setting up the advance and fees for drawdown
  • Effect payments, completion, fee & interest collection, insurance matters etc
  • Maintain efficient and professional service, and good customer/ banker relationship

Post Drawdown

  • Undertake post completion checklist and “first check” signing off as case manager
  • Monitor loan conditions, covenants etc. to include flagging to HoSP any upcoming conditions where their input is required, liaising with strategic partners to obtain relevant information to satisfy loan conditions, setting up and drafting memos and file notes, updating Aurius, amending master spreadsheet and VC’ing evidence of satisfied conditions
  • Assist HoSP with drafting memos for extensions, renewals and restructures
  • Identify risk situations and overdue loans ensuring portfolio is adequately monitored & reported
  • Analyse, interpret, comment and act constructively on reports prepared by our Strategic Partners and/or their professional advisers
  • Facilitate in-life / works drawdowns to include setting up the tranche release form and processing the payment in Aurius
  • Undertake first check of Extension Checklist and ensure all relevant amendments have been actioned and Aurius updated
  • Undertaking security reviews
  • Ensure Portfolio Management adheres to the Bank’s Internal Processes and External Regulatory Framework
  • Effect payments, completion and management of loan redemptions, fee & interest collection etc.

General Matters

  • Maintain good relationships with our Strategic Partners
  • Assist the Head of Strategic Partnerships as and when required
  • Assist Head of Operations / Deputy Head of Operations as and when required
  • Provide support and assist other members of the team as and when required (Sales, Relationship Management, Operations)
  • Manage efficient and accurate file maintenance and account processing (Aurius and Virtual Cabinet)
  • Assist rest of Operations team with day-to-day tasks, if required to cover workflow / absences etc.
  • Undertake specific projects as and when required by the Team or the wider Bank
  • Any other matters required to be done to assist in the achievement of the Bank’s budget and business development plans, including any personally allocated performance objectives

Skills and Experience sought:

  • Experience gained in the processing of property lending transactions (residential and commercial)
  • Relationship Management experience
  • Good written/report writing skills, including credit analysis
  • Ability to communicate accurately, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work to tight deadlines whilst paying attention to detail
  • Willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary to meet team objectives
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
